Akram Afif poursuit sa progression avec le Sporting Gijon

Considéré comme le plus grand espoir du Qatar, Akram Afif a l’ambition de franchir un palier cette saison en s'imposant en Europe. Le milieu offensif de 19 ans, passé par le Tournoi de Toulon en 2014, a rejoint cet été Villarreal pour une durée de quatre ans en provenance d’Al-Saad. 

Cependant, l’international qatarien (3 sélections, 1 but) va devoir attendre quelque temps avant de jouer avec le sous-marin jaune puisqu’il a été prêté pour une saison au Sporting Gijon afin d’obtenir du temps de jeu. Pour le moment, tout semble bien se passer pour Afif qui a effectué ses débuts en Liga le 21 août dernier lors de Sporting Gijon-Atheltic Bilbao (2-1). Avant d’effectuer une autre apparition contre l’Atletico Madrid (0-5) le week-end dernier. 

Précédé d’une réputation flatteuse, Afif va devoir désormais confirmer les espoirs placés en lui.
