Karim Abed promu au rang d’arbitre FIFA
Le Festival International Espoirs contribue au développement des jeunes joueurs mais pas seulement. Notre compétition est également un excellent moyen pour certains arbitres de se jauger sur la scène internationale.
C’est notamment le cas de Karim Abed, le jeune arbitre tricolore qui a ainsi prolongé sa saison 2016-2017 pour venir arbitrer Angleterre-Angola puis République Tchèque-Indonésie lors du Festival International Espoirs 2017.
Cette expérience connue lors du Festival représente pour Abed un aperçu de ce qui l’attend dans les mois à venir. Le Français de 29 ans vient effet d’être promu au rang d’arbitre FIFA. Ce statut lui permettant d’officier désormais lors des rencontres internationales au niveau senior.
Une sacrée ascension de la part du natif de Brignoles qui officiait encore en Division d’Honneur en 2013… !
