Davinson Sanchez earned his first international cap with Colombia

Aged just 20, Davinson Sanchez (Toulon Tournament 2014) made his international debut with Colombia. The Ajax Amsterdam solid stopper was in the Colombia’s starting line-up on this Wendesday during the 0-3 loss against Argentina in the World Cup 2018 qualifiers.

Sanchez has played the full 90 minutes at the heart of the defence and certainly had mixed emotions after his first international cap as Argentina, led by an outstanding Leo Messi, hammered Colombia.

After 12 games, Colombia are 6th of the South American qualifying table with 5 wins, 3 draws and 4 losses. The best four South American teams will qualify automatically for the World Cup 2018 while the fifth-placed team will play a play-off against an Oceanian team.
