Lassana Coulibaly has enjoyed an astonishing rise over the last months ! The 20-year-old midfielder took part in the Toulon Tournament in May with Mali. Then, he has penned in June his first professional contract with Sporting Club Bastia as he has agreed a three-year-deal with the Ligue 1 side.
After committing himself to Bastia, the Bamako-born has forced his way into the first-team plans. Since the start to the season, Coulibaly has played 11 Ligue 1 games including 9 as a starter. He has played 811 minutes exactly which is the 6th highest tally of the Corsican squad.
Thanks to his performances with Bastia, Coulibaly was called-up to the Mali squad and made his international debut on October. The head coach Alain Giresse seems to see a lot of potential in Coulibaly as the Bastia player earned his 2nd international cap against Gabon (0-0) in a World Cup 2018 qualifier this week-end.
