After each round of the Rio Olympics, we take a look at the performances of the Toulon Tournament former players. During the semi-finals, Luan and Marquinhos distinguished themselves with Brazil while Nigeria and Shehu were knocked out.

Brazil – Honduras : 6-0

He is probably one of the most exciting players of the Rio Olympics : Luan distinguished himself again with Brazil. During the semi-final against Honduras, the Toulon Tournament 2014 winner has netted his 3rd goal in the competition, delivered an assist and won a penalty just before the end of the game.

Meanwhile, another Toulon Tournament 2014 winner has shone during this game. Marquinhos was a rock in Brazil defence and scored his first goal in the Rio Olympics. After a difficult start in this competition, the hosts will head into the final against Germany !

Nigeria – Germany : 0-2

It’s over for Nigeria ! The Nigerians were outclassed by Germany during the semi-final as they struggled to contain the attacks launched by the opponents. The right-back Abdellahi Shehu (Toulon Tournament 2013) was in the Nigeria’s starting line-up and got up and down the right flank all the game while Kinglsey Madu (Toulon Tournament 2013) was benched the whole game….

Final (August 20) :

Brazil-Germany
