Gareth Southgate (England head coach) : "I'm pleased with the way we played"

"The important thing for us is that we want to play good football, and we used the ball very well. It was a very close game but I'm pleased with the way we played. It was a different system for us. We only had three days to prepare. I'm very pleased with the way that the players adapted to this and some good individual performances too. Toulon Tournament is a good opportunity to see new players, to experience world opposition as well, and different styles. We are preparing for European championship next summer, it's an important learning step for the squad."
