Carlos Paredes (Paraguay head coach) : "The team worked well"

"We have to congratulate Japan for their level, it makes our win more valuable. We saw a beautiful game between two technical teams. Football sometimes gives surprises but my team worked well to come to this tournament and face all the teams. I'm active on the bench because football is my passion for more than twenty years. I live my games at 100% to quickly transmit instructions and share the game with my players."

Pedro Baez Benitez (Paraguay forward) : "We're more confident"

"We have a better cohesion thanks to the group life and the first victory. Winning always make yourself more confident and remove a little pressure. Scoring the first goal reassured us because Japan was playing a great football. Now, we're unfazed and focused on the two next games but keeping the win as our aim."
