Two years after leaving Universidad Catolica to try his luck in Europe, Nicolas Castillo, who took part in the Toulon Tournament 2014, has decided to return to his boyhood club during the last transfer window. Without doubt, Castillo has made the right choice. Since joining Universidad Catolica in January on loan from FC Bruges (Belgium), Castillo has produced a number of convincing displays as he scored 11 goals in 9 league games !
The 23-year-old was rewarded for his performances as he earned his 2nd international cap with Chile during the win over Venezuela (4-1) in the World Cup 2018 qualifiers. After a difficult stint in Europe, Castillo seems to be getting back to his best.
