Bruno Alves, who took part in the 2001 Toulon Tournament, turned 34 in November but the Portuguese defender has shown he is still capable of playing at the highest level. Since the start to the season, Alves has played 32 games in all competitions with Fenerbahçe, the Turkish side. Meanwhile, the Portugal international (83 caps) is still a key member of his national team : unless something unexpected happens, Alves will play the Euro 2016 with his country.
Alves, who joined Fenerbahçe in 2013 from Zenit Saint-Petersburg, has shown a remarkable consistency in his performances over the last years. The former FC Porto player can go on at the top level for maybe two or three seasons. Unless he retires in a near future…
