The Samuel’s last challenge

Walter Samuel, winner of the 1998 Toulon Tournament, is preparing himself for the last months of his career as the 37-year-old has announced in October his retirement at the end of this current campaign. “There comes a time where you have to listen to what your body is telling you”, The FC Basel defender told Neue Zürcher Zeitung.
During his career, the former Argentina international (57 capes) has clinched 6 Italian championships. One with AS Roma and five with Inter Milan. Now, Samuel is hoping to win the Swiss championship with FC Basel, a trophy that he already won during the last season.
