Robert Holding, who joined Arsenal last season from Bolton, has waited his 24th official game with the Gunners to score his first goal.
The 22-year-old defender found the net for the first time with Arsenal during the Europa League game against BATE Borisov (4-2) on this Thursday. The Toulon Tournament 2016 winner scored the third goal of his side after 25 minutes.
“It’s a proud moment to score my first competitive goal. I got one against Chivas last year on the tour, so to get my first competitive one I’m over the moon and the celebration showed it”, he said to the Arsenal official website.
This first goal can help Holding to cement his place in the Arsenal squad. The English defender has started 6 games in all competitions since the start to the season.
