The Indonesians have faced a group stage exit during the Toulon Tournament 2017 but Egy Vikry Maulana distinguished himself as he won the Scout7 John Haynes trophy, which is awarded to the tournament's breakthrough player.
After producing some promising performances this summer in the south of France, the 17-year-old midfielder has continued to impress with his national team. Indonesia took part in the AFF U-18 Youth Championship on September, a competition organized by the ASEAN Football Federation.
Impressive during the whole competition, Egy Maulana Vikri has led his country to the third place as he scored 8 goals. He has also been named best player of the AFF U-18 Youth Championship.
According to some local medias, his recent performances have attracted interest from several Indonesian top-flight’s clubs but Egy Maulana Vikri has reportedly rejected all the offers.
Meanwhile, the young Indonesian, who was identified as one of the 60 best players in the world born in 2000 by The Guardian, has caught the eye from a number of European clubs, especially teams from Croatia, Italy and Spain, according to reports.
It seems like the Indonesian wonderkid has an embarrassment of riches at his disposal...
