They were waiting since 1995 ! Gremio won on this Thursday the third Copa Libertadores in their history. After beating Lanus (1-0) in the first leg, the Brazilians earned a 2-1 win in the second leg played in Argentina to secure their title.
There have been countless occasions when Luan has been the difference maker for Gremio in this Copa Libertadores campaign.
The 24-year-old attacking midfielder netted 8 goals in 12 Copa Libertadores games this season and has been named best player of the competition by the CONMEBOL. The final’s second leg against Lanus was the opportunity for the Brazil international (2 caps) to shine again as he freezes the keeper with a lovely chip in the first half.
After winning the Toulon Tournament (2014), the Brazilian Cup (2016) and the Olympic Games 2016), Luan added the Copa Libertadores to his collection.
