After a 1-1 draw in the first leg of the Mexican league final, Tigres earned a 2-1 win over Rayados Monterrey in the second leg to claim their sixth Liga MX title in their history.
Eduardo Vargas played a crucial role in this second leg as the 28-year-old forward netted the equalizer just after the half-hour mark, few minutes before the winner scored by his teammate Francisco Meza.
The Toulon Tournament 2009 winner has lifted several trophies during his career : the Chile international (81 caps, 35 goals) has won two Mexican leagues with Tigres, one Italian Cup with Napoli, two Chilean leagues and a Copa Sudamericana with Unviersidad de Chile as well as two Copa America with his national team !
