In 2006, Hugo Ayala was taking part in the Toulon Tournament while he hasn’t made yet his professional debut. Eleven years later, the Morelia-born has acquired a strong reputation in the Liga MX.
Crowned champion of Mexico this month with Tigres for the third time in his career, the 30-year-old centre-back has also collected an individual honour as the Mexico international (38 caps) has been named in the Mexican league’s best XI, two years after his last nomination.
The Tigres defender emerged as one of the Liga MX’s best players over the last seasons and has also cemented his place in the Mexico national team. Thanks to his performances and his consistency with Tigres, he should probably secure a spot for the upcoming World Cup.
