Bebeto, Leonardo as well as Zico : all these Brazilian World Cup winners have played in the Japanese top-flight during their career. Over the last years, many of their fellow countryman joined the Land of the Rising Sun and this week one of them made history.
Jô, who recently clinched the Brazilian league title with Corinthians, has joined Nagoya Grampus in a record deal. The transfer fee is believed to be around €11M, making him the most expensive signing in the J-League’s history.
The Brazil international (20 games, 5 goals) has already grabbed the headlines few years ago. In 2008, he was signed by Manchester City from CSKA Moscow for a then €24M-club-record-deal.
