Two years after their last participation, we are glad to announce the Portugal’s return to the Toulon Tournament for the next edition which will be held from 26th May to 9th June.
Portugal won the Toulon Tournament three times and many of the most famous Portuguese internationals took part in our competition.
We can talk about Rui Costa, who earned both the top scorer and the best player awards at the in 1996. Few years later, in 2003, a young teenager named Cristiano Ronaldo clinched the Toulon Tournament title with the Seleçao.
As a reminder, the Toulon Tournament 2018 will feature 12 teams placed in 3 four-team groups. The three top teams of each group as well as the best second placed team (of all the groups) will advance to the semi-finals. Meanwhile, the other teams will play another game to determine their final ranking in the competition.
Except Portugal, seven teams have already confirmed their presence at the upcoming Festival : Turkey, Togo, Japan, France, South Korea, England and Canada. The other participating teams will be unveiled soon…
