Only Asian nation to have ever played a Toulon Tournament final in 2007, China will be among the participating teams of the upcoming edition which will be held from 26th May to 9th June 2018.
The young Chinese players will be coached by a former Manchester City player : Sun Jihai. The latter has played for the Citizens during six years between 2002 and 2008 and was the first Chinese player to score in the Premier League.
Sun Jihai will also bring his international experience to the new generation as he was part of the only China team ever to have played a World Cup in 2002.
As a reminder, the Toulon Tournament 2018 will feature 12 teams placed in 3 four-team groups. The three top teams of each group as well as the best second placed team (of all the groups) will advance to the semi-finals. Meanwhile, the other teams will play another game to determine their final ranking in the competition.
Except China, eight teams have already confirmed their presence at the upcoming Festival : Turkey, Togo, Japan, France, South Korea, England, Canada and Portugal. The other participating teams will be unveiled soon...
