Mexico will make its 24th appearance at the Toulon Tournament during the upcoming edition which will be held from 26th May to 9th June 2018.
A number of famous Mexican footballers took part in the Festival Espoirs like the former Real Madrid star Hugo Sanchez or the ex-Barcelona defender Rafael Marquez. Most recently, Marco Fabian, the Eintracht Frankfurt current player, made history after leading Mexico to the Toulon Tournament title in 2012 by scoring 7 goals, equaling the record for the most goals scored in a single edition, level with Alan Shearer in 1991.
As a reminder, the Toulon Tournament 2018 will feature 12 teams placed in 3 four-team groups. The three top teams of each group as well as the best second placed team (of all the groups) will advance to the semi-finals. Meanwhile, the other teams will play another game to determine their final ranking in the competition.
Except Mexico, nine teams have already confirmed their presence at the upcoming Festival : Turkey, Togo, Japan, France, South Korea, England, Canada, Portugal and China. The last two participating teams will be unveiled in the upcoming days...
