Over the last years, the number of Costa Rican players moving to the foreign leagues has increased. Some players try their chance in Europe, others prefer to play in the Major League Soccer.
Currently, they are a dozen Costa Ricans footballers to play in the North American league including Ulises Segura, who took part in the Toulon Tournament 2015.
Signed by DC United during the winter transfer window following his successful spell at Deportivo Saprissa (114 league games played and 3 league titles clinched with the Costa Rican club), Segura has enjoyed his MLS debut on the last week end debut during the game against Orlando City (1-1).
While he’s chasing the American dream, Segura has also another dream on his mind : representing his country at the World Cup 2018.
This a realistic aim for Segura who has already 6 international caps to his name. He has notably featured in the last friendly played by Los Ticos on November against Hungary (0-1).
