Pour son entrée en lice, le Qatar a chuté face au Mexique (1-4). A l’issue de la rencontre, Nasser Abdulsalam Al Ahrak, le milieu qatarien de Cultural Leonesa, est revenu sur le scénario de la rencontre.
« Nous avons affronté un adversaire difficile. Nous avons entamé le match sans aucune concentration, c'est pourquoi nous avons concédé un but rapidement. Nous avons été mieux au retour des vestiaires. Nous sommes ici pour nous préparer pour les futures échéances. Nous affrontons des joueurs plus âgés, jusqu'a présent, nous avons fait de notre mieux. On doit rester concentrés tout le temps sur l'aspect physique et mental. »
