Mexico and England left each others on a 0-0 draw on Tuesday, but the game was pleasant. Mexico head coach was satisfied with the display of his team.
"This was the kind of game we expected, a tight match with two equal teams. There was two domination periods in both sides. We know well the English squad since 2017 U20 World Cup. Our only regret is to have failed to score a goal...
We had to be more efficient. With a goal, it would have been perfect. I am very happy with the team. Especially about the way my players passed the ball from behind. Some game phases was very interesting. We were half rewarded tonight.
Diego Lainez ? It's a player we know for a few years already. He has quality. But before everything, I want to underline the level of the team. We were good in all the game domains. That is what I expected. Hopefully the best is yet to come.
For the next, we go step by step. We want to qualify for the next round. If we clinch the first spot, it's better.
We will keep playing our football for the next games. I repete it since the last game. A lot of players can bring something to this squad. We will think about the possibility to make a turn-over, to give more game time to everybody."
