Akinobou Yokouchi (Japan head coach) : « My players give everything »

In a thrilling game, Japan beat Portugal and earned their first win in this 46th edition of the Maurice Revello Tournament (3-2). The Japanese head coach Akinobou Yokouchi was happy about the determination of his players.

"Against a team like Portugal, you can't just wait and defend. You have to go forward. Despite our determination to do well, the Portuguese created some chances. They knew how to find spaces in our defense.

It is by playing this kind of game that we will mentally and technically improve. It is some experience to earn. I know my players give everything. They have the desire to do wenn. But, unfortunately, I also know we can't succeed all we try to do. The strikers didn't have many chances but they were efficient. I have three forwards who I put in competition. Today, they showed good things."
