Thanks to their win over Togo (1-0), the Samurai Blue end their tournament on a good resut and get the seventh spot. Akinobu Yokouchi, the Japanese head coach, enjoyed the behaviour of his players.

"The players gave everything. We really wanted to end on a victory. This game was hard to prepare. Despite our elimination, I didn't want any slackening. I was a bit worried. But the players were present and focused. I thank them for their attitude.

Through this game, we learnt some lessons. We didn't concede a goal, it's a positive point. In first half, we had the control of the ball. We create some chances. In second half, the opponent made us suffer. We were tired and the Togolese did everything to equalize. Togo is a powerful team but my players resisted. I asked some players to not avoid the duels. In counter-attacks, we had a few situations but we couldn't score."
