Loaned out by Chelsea to Wigan, Reece James has quickly established himself as a key player for the Champipnship side. The observers are full of praise for him and some of them think that the 18-year-old is simply the best player of the team since the start to the season.
I still shake my head in disbelief that Reece James is only 18. Wise head on young shoulders. Gonna be a serious player that lad. #wafc

We’re gonna have to rename the man of the match award and just call it Reece James. He’s a class above not seen him have a bad game yet #wafc

“Regulation display from the front-runner for the player of the year award...didn’t put a foot wrong”, commented the local outlet Wigan Today after his last display against West Bromwich Albion (1-0).
His value is also illustrated by a statistic : the England U19 international took part in every league game played this season by the Latics so far.
“I think the first few months have gone well, obviously the transition between academy football and men’s football is significantly different as you’re playing against much better and more experienced players, but we’ve made a good start to the season and as a group we should be pleased”, said James to the Wigan official website.
Without doubt, this 2018-2019 campaign will be key to the development of the Chelsea youth academy product. Especially if Wigan succeed to defy the odds. Newly promoted Latics are currently tenth in the league at only one point from the sixth place, the final position for the Premier League's promotion play-offs…
