L’arbitrage maltais poursuit sa progression
La liste des arbitres agréés FIFA pour l’année 2019 a été dévoilée récemment par l’instance dirigeante du football mondial.
En pleine progression, l’arbitrage maltais sera représenté au niveau international par douze hommes en noir : quatre arbitres centraux et huit assistants.
Certains arbitres centraux ont dirigé des rencontres du Tournoi Maurice Revello durant leur carrière. Alan Mario Sant (au centre de la photo), classé comme le meilleur arbitre du pays, était venu en 2017 tandis que Trustin Farrugia Cann a dirigé des rencontres de la dernière édition.
A l’instar des noms précédemment cités, les arbitres assistants Christopher Francalanza, Alan Camilleri et Luke Portelli disposent également de la certification FIFA et ont eux aussi officié lors du Tournoi Maurice Revello.
« C’est le résultat du travail sans relâche effectué par tous nos arbitres sur le plan national et international », a estimé Kevin Azzopardi, le responsable de l’arbitrage au sein de la fédération maltaise de football (MFA).
