Jacob Italiano : « c’est une grande opportunité […] de faire passer le football australien au niveau supérieur »
L'Australie se prépare pour sa toute première participation au Tournoi Maurice Revello, et débarque sur les pelouses provençales avec des ambitions non dissimulées, tant par Tony Vidmar que par l'un de ses joueurs, Jacob Italiano. En effet, le milieu offensif de 21 ans qui évolue principalement en réserve du côté du Borussia Mönchengladbach (Allemagne) s'est exprimé à propos des ambitions des Soceroos mais aussi de ses aspirations futures.
« Je suis très excité. Je pense que c'est une grande opportunité pour nous tous individuellement, et évidemment en tant que groupe, en tant qu'équipe de faire passer le football australien au niveau supérieur, car j'ai l'impression que notre développement s'accélère définitivement. Et il y a beaucoup de jeunes joueurs qui ont le potentiel de percer en Europe et vraiment, vous savez, d'avoir un impact en Europe également. »
