Le début du match nous offre peu d’occasions avec surtout du jeu physique. Petit à peu, les Portugais vont dominer cette rencontre. Emmenés par un To-Ze en feu, les Portugais sont proches d’ouvrir la marque. Le coup de franc de To-Ze touche la barre (22’). Juste après, les Belges ont des sueurs froides avec les frappes de Betinho (26’) et de Dabo (31’). Avant la mi-temps le Portugal va prendre l’avantage : mauvaise relance de Ngawa. Cela revient dans les pieds de l’inévitable To-Ze qui tire des 20 mètres et ouvre le score (40’). Au retour des vestiaires, les Portugais dominent toujours. Betinho (44’) puis To-Ze (51’) sont proches de doubler le score. Cela va arriver quelques minutes plus tard. Sur le côté droit, Ricardo Pereira adresse un centre parfait en direction de Ricardo Esgaio. L’attaquant du Sporting Lisbonne ne se fait pas prier pour ajuster Casteels du droit (61’). La Belgique n’existe pas dans ce match et souffre jusqu’à la fin. Le Portugal est très confiant. Ricardo Perieira tente même un retourné acrobatique (75’). Le résultat ne changera pas. Pour son premier match, le Portugal gagne et impressionne !

Betinho (44’) and the unmissable To-Ze, on a free-kick, are near to score the second goal. It will be the case few minutes later. On the right side, Ricardo Pereira send a perfect cross to Ricardo Esgaio, The Sporting Lisobon’s forward , with self-control, gives a comfortable advantage to Portugal (61’). Belgium doesn’t exist in this game and suffer until the end. Portugal is very confident. Ricardo Pereira tries an acrobatic shot (75’). The result will not change. For its first game, Portugal wins and impresses !
