L’Algérie l’a fait ! Pour la première fois de son histoire, les Fennecs vont disputer un huitième de finale de Coupe du Monde grâce à leur match nul acquis face à la Russie (1-1). Yacine Brahimi, passé par le Festival International Espoirs en 2010, est l’un des artisans de cette qualification historique.
Auteur d’un but face à la Corée du Sud, l’ailier de Granada s’est montré de nouveau décisif face à la Russie en réalisant une passe décisive. Son coup franc atterrit sur la tête d’Islam Slimani qui égalise.

Yacine Brahimi n’est pas le seul ancien joueur du Festival à avoir contribué à cette qualification algérienne. En effet, Carl Medjani le milieu défensif des Fennecs, avait participé au tournoi en 2006.

Algeria did it ! For the first time of their history, the Fennecs reach the second round of the World Cup thanks to a draw against Russia (1-1). Yacine Brahimi, who took part in the Festival International Espoirs in 2010, contributes greatly to this historical performance for the country.
Granada winger scored against South Korea and he was decisive against Russia thanks to an assist. His free-kick founds Islam Slimani who equalized with a winning header.

Yacine Brahimi is not the only Festival’s former player to help Algeria to qualify. Indeed, Carl Medjani, the defensive midfielder of the Fennecs, took part in the Festival in 2006.
