Lors de la première journée des qualifications pour la CAN 2015, Yacine Brahimi (France – 2010) a inscrit le second but de l’Algérie lors de la victoire des Fennecs en Ethiopie (2-1). En Afrique toujours, Gervinho (Côte d’Ivoire – 2007) a permis aux Ivoiriens de s’imposer face à la Sierra Leone en inscrivant le but victorieux (2-1).
En Europe, Ricardo Horta, qui a disputé le tournoi cet été avec le Portugal, a connu sa première sélection avec les A. Malheureusement pour lui, le Portugal s’est incliné face à l’Albanie (0-1) lors de la première journée des qualifications pour l’Euro 2016. Durant le match, Ricardo Horta a trouvé la barre transversale.

Qualifiers for international competitions start this week-end in some continents. Some players who took part in the Toulon Tournament played with their countries.
During the start of the qualifiers for next year's African Cup of Nations, Yacine Brahimi (France – 2010) scores the second goal of Algeria during the win against Ethiopia (2-1). Still in Africa, Gervinho (Ivory Coast – 2007), helps his country to beat Sierra Leone in scoring the winning goal (2-1).
In Europe, Ricardo Horta, who contested the Toulon Tournament this summer with Portugal, made his international debut with the first team. Unfortunately for him, Portugal was beaten at home by Albania (0-1) in Euro 2016 qualifier’s opening. During the game, Ricardo Horta rattled the crossbar.
