Every week, we take our usual look around the best championships to follow the performances of the players who contested the Toulon Tournament in the past.

In France, Ricky Van Wolfswinkel (Netherlands – 2009) equalized for Saint-Etienne against AS Monaco (1-1). It’s the second goal in Ligue 1 for the Dutch striker. In Germany, Jimmy Briand (France – 2005) netted his first goal in Bundesliga. It was during the win of Hannover against Hertha Berlin (2-0).

In Spain, Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal – 2003) was brilliant again with Real Madrid. His team beat Rayo Vallecano (5-1) and the Portuguese star has scored a goal and delivered two assists. In Portugal, Yacine Brahimi is one of the Porto’s key players and he proved that again. The Algeria international scored another stunning goal during the 2-2 draw against Estoril.

Finally, a word about Thierry Henry (France – 1997). The French striker will play the Easten Conference final in the MLS play-offs. New York Red Bulls, his team, reached this step thanks to a 3-2 aggregate win against DC United. During the second leg, Thierry Henry provided a crucial assist.
