Ce vendredi, les Emirats Arabes Unis ont battu (1-1, 5-4 t.a.b) le Japon, tenant du titre, lors des quarts de finale de la Coupe d’Asie 2015.

Au coup d’envoi, on dénombrait pas moins de 10 joueurs passés par le Festival International Espoirs. Le Japon comptait 7 joueurs ayant disputé le tournoi (Masato Morishige, Maya Yoshida, Gotoku Sakai, Makoto Hasebe, Keisuke Honda, Shinji Kagawa, Shinji Okazaki) tandis qu’on retrouvait 3 joueurs passés par le Festival du côté des Emirats Arabes Unis (Mohamed Ahmad, Omar Abdulrahman, Ahmed Khalil) .

Les Emiratis ont ouvert la marque en première période mais ont été rejoints en seconde période par la formation japonaise. Les deux équipes n’ont su se départager ensuite durant les prolongations.

Lors de la séance des penaltys, ce sont les Emirats Arabes Unis qui ont gardé leurs nerfs afin d’accéder au tour suivant. En demi-finales, les coéquipiers d’Omar Abdulrahman affronteront, l’Australie, organisatrice du tournoi.

This Friday, the United Arab Emirates knocked out (1-1, 5-4 pen) defending champion Japan during the 2015 Asian Cup quarter-final.

When we analyse the starting line-ups, we see that there are 10 Toulon Tournament former players on the pitch. Japan has 7 players who took part in the Festival (Masato Morishige, Maya Yoshida, Gotoku Sakai, Makoto Hasebe, Keisuke Honda, Shinji Kagawa, Shinji Okazaki) while we count 3 Toulon tournament former players in the UAE squad (Mohamed Ahmad, Omar Abdulrahman, Ahmed Khalil).

The Emirates have opened the score during the first half but Japan equalised before the end of the game. The two teams played an extra-time in which nobody took the advantage. Finally, the United Arab Emirates won the penalty shootout.
In the semi-finals, the Omar Abldurahman’s team will face to Australia, the tournament host.
