Shinji Okazaki, le serial buteur
Sans faire un grand bruit, Shinji Okazaki soigne ses statistiques, semaine après semaine, sous les couleurs de Mayence (Bundesliga). Ce week-end, l’avant-centre japonais, qui a disputé le Festival International Espoirs en 2008, a grandement contribué au succès des siens sur le terrain de Fribourg (3-2) en inscrivant un doublé.
Deux nouvelles réalisations qui portent son total à 12 buts marqués cette saison en championnat. Généralement, ce sont des buts importants comme le prouve ce chiffre étonnant : le Japonais a déjà ouvert le score à huit reprises cette saison. Parallèlement, Shinji Okazaki est également le meilleur buteur à l’extérieur de Bundesliga : 9 de ses 12 buts ont été marqués en territoire ennemi.
L’avant-centre japonais est sur la lancée de saison précédente où il avait marqué 15 buts en championnat. L’efficacité de Shinji Okazaki suscite l’intérêt de plusieurs clubs. Cet hiver, il était tout proche de rejoindre Leicester City (Premier League) qui n’a toutefois pas abandonné l’idée de le recruter cet hiver. Depuis quelques semaines, le Borussia Monchengladbach, bien placé pour jouer la Ligue des Champions la saison prochaine, a également manifesté son intérêt pour le joueur de 29 ans.

He’s not maybe the striker with the biggest reputation but Shinji Okazaki is efficient week after week with Mainz (Bundesliga). This week-end, the Japanese striker, who took part in the 2008 Toulon Tournament, helped his side to win at Freiburg (3-2) as he has hit a brace.
He has already scored 12 goals since the beginning of the current campaign. Generally, his goals are important : the Japanese opened the scoring eight times this season. Meanwhile, Shinji Okazaki is the Bundesliga’s most prolific scorer on enemy territory as 9 of his 12 goals have come away from home.
15 goals in Bundesliga during the last season and 12 goals in the current campaign : the 29-year-old is obviously one of the most accurate strikers of the German league. Some clubs shown interest in the Mainz forward. Leicester City, which was close to sign him this winter, and Borussia Monchengladbach are reportedly preparing to make an offer for him.
