World Cup U20 : Japan and Spain reach the final for the first time

The U20 Women’s World Cup is held in France from 5th to 24th August. It should be noted that 64 players who took part in the Sud Ladies Cup compete in the World Cup. Throughout the competition, we will take look at their performances !

England – Japan : 0-2

After beating USA in the group stage and then Germany during the quarter-finals, Japan impressed again as they clinched a 2-0 win over England in the semi-finals. The Asians gave no chance to their opponents as they have quickly earned a two-goal-lead thanks to Riko Ueki and Jun Endo.
The Japanese national team will play its first ever World Cup U20 final against Spain on Friday.

France – Spain : 0-1

Spain got the better of France in this all European semi-final. And yet, the French players were the first to create the danger but Emelyne Laurent missed her two opportunities. In the second half, Spain took the lead thanks to the talisman Patricia Guijarro : the FC Barcelona starlet scored her sixth goal in this World Cup thanks to a winning header.
Despite being reduced to 10-women and conceding a penalty, eventually missed by Marie-Antoinette Katoto, Spain keep their advantage to reach the World Cup final for the first time.
