Eduardo Vargas, winner of the Toulon Tournament 2009, played a key role in the Chile’s brilliant win over Mexico (7-0) during the Copa America 2016 quarter-final on Saturday as the Hoffenheim forward netted four goals !

Thanks to his top class performance, Vargas is now the top scorer of the competition with 6 goals. Otherwise, Vargas becomes the Chile’s all time joint-top goalscorer in the Copa America with 10 goals scored in this competition during his career (4 in 2015 and 6 in 2016). Only Enrique Hormazábal reached this tally for Chile before Vargas.
