The Diego Lainez’ success story continues ! Just before the summer, he was named best player of the Maurice Revello Tournament 2018. Earlier this month, the 18-year-old attacking midfielder made the headlines once again as he netted his first Liga MX goals with Club America.

Thanks to his recent performances, Lainez has been called up for the first time by the Mexico senior national team head coach Tuca Ferretti for the upcoming friendlies against Uruguay and United States (8th and 12th September).

Except Lainez, two other members of the Mexican squad that reached the Maurice Revello Tournament 2018 final have also earned their first senior call-up : the defender Gerardo Arteaga (Santos Laguna) and the midfielder Roberto Alvarado (Cruz Azul).
