The inaugural Women's Gold Cup, organised by the United States, crowned the host nation last night with a 1-0 victory over Brazil. The triumph was marked by Jaedyn Shaw, who was named player of the tournament less than two years after winning the Sud Ladies Cup with the US national team.
The United States, one of the leading nations in women's football, added another trophy to their collection. The Americans beat Brazil 1-0 last night to win the first ever Women's Gold Cup.

Although she did not score in the final, 19-year-old prodigy Jaedyn Shaw shone throughout the Gold Cup. The San Diego Wave striker scored four goals and was named player of the tournament.

Less than two years after winning the Sud Ladies Cup, Shaw has already established herself as a dominant player on the North American continent at senior level. The future looks bright for the 19-year-old American....
