John Herdman (Canadian coach) : " it's a great opportunity for these young guys."
After this last ranking play-off, John Herdman, Canadian coach we return after their defeat against France. (2-1)
" We’re proud to have managed to protect ourselves on the second half. During the first half we noticed the quality of the French, we are slightly sluggish in front of them. But in the second half we were awake and we gave everything. We are proud of the match we have although we are disappointed not to have won.
We tried to recall the ball to us but France revealed a better experience than us. They were less individually than us. We still registered a nice but during the second part of the game.
I think this tournament is fantastic, it's a great opportunity for these young guys. Coming from different confederations, different countries with different levels can compete. It’s a good experience for them, we set goals for these 4 games and we are delighted to have been able to participate; we were very proud of Canada.
I think that my guys have given their best, we still happy to finish 6th of this tournament, but has advanced the test to set up deeper in our game, to adopt a better strategy."
