Le dernier challenge de Samuel
Walter Samuel, vainqueur du Festival Espoirs de Toulon en 1998, est en train de vivre les derniers moments de sa carrière. Le joueur de 37 ans a en effet révélé en octobre qu’il raccrochait les crampons à l’issue de l’exercice actuel. « Il arrive un moment où vous devez écouter votre corps », a affirmé le défenseur du FC Bâle au quotidien Neue Zürcher Zeitung.
Durant sa carrière, l’ancien international argentin (57 sélections) a notamment remporté 6 championnats d’Italie. Un avec l’AS Roma et cinq avec l’Inter Milan. Désormais, Samuel espère remporter le championnat de Suisse avec le FC Bâle. Un trophée qu’il a déjà gagné la saison passée.

The Samuel’s last challenge
Walter Samuel, winner of the 1998 Toulon Tournament, is preparing himself for the last months of his career as the 37-year-old has announced in October his retirement at the end of this current campaign. “There comes a time where you have to listen to what your body is telling you”, The FC Basel defender told Neue Zürcher Zeitung.
During his career, the former Argentina international (57 capes) has clinched 6 Italian championships. One with AS Roma and five with Inter Milan. Now, Samuel is hoping to win the Swiss championship with FC Basel, a trophy that he already won during the last season.
