Miguel Borja, the Colombian sensation
Miguel Borja, who took part in the Toulon Tournament 2013, has forged a reputation for himself as one of the best players still playing domestically in his native Colombia. The 23-year-old striker was in fantastic goal-scoring form throughout the year with Cortuluá as well as Atletico Nacional, his new club since July.
Borja was unstoppable this year as he netted 39 goals in 47 games in all competitions : 20 league goals, 8 goals in Colombian Cup, 6 in Copa Sudamericana and 5 in Copa Libertadores !
His outstanding performances, added to the Copa Libertadores title clinched with Atletico Nacional this summer, allowed him to earn his first international call-up as Borja has been selected in the Colombia squad for the World Cup 2018 qualifiers against Chile (November 10) and Argentina (November 16).
