Gameiro has opted for Atletico Madrid challenge
67 goals netted in 147 games and three Europa League titles clinched in three seasons : Kévin Gameiro has obviously enjoyed a successful spell at Sevilla FC and his performances alerted the attention of Atletico Madrid. The Champions League 2014 and 2016 runners-up have signed the 29-year-old for a fee believed to be around 32 M€ while the Toulon Tournament 2007 best player has penned a four-year-contract with Los Rojiblancos.
“I'm here to win titles; the Champions League and La Liga. I'm really looking forward to the season ahead. This is a great club and can't wait to challenge for the league title and Champions League this season – I would love to win a trophy” , the France international (8 caps) said after being unveiled to his new supporters.
At Atletico Madrid, Gameiro will play alongside two players who took part in the Toulon Tournament : the left-back Filipe Luis and the attacking midfielder Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco.
