Colombia defeats USA to qualify for 2016 Olympics !
24 years after its last participation in 1992, Colombia is back in the Olympics ! After the 1-1 draw in Baranquilla last week, Colombia earned a 2-1 win against USA in Frisco during the second leg on this Wednesday. Colombia took the lead through Roger Martinez after 30 minutes. Then, the Americans equalized thanks to a Deiver Machado own goal before the hour mark (57’). Few minutes later, Roger Martinez netted his second goal of the game to secure a crucial victory for the Cafeteros (64’).
Thanks to this win, the Colombians have claimed the final spot available for Rio. It should be noted that the South American side will take part in the Toulon Tournament (18-29 May) to prepare for the Olympics !
