Alejandro Gomez and Atalanta enjoy a fairytale season
They are taking the Serie A by storm ! Atalanta are making the best season of their history as they are currently 5th in the Italian league table. There are still eight games to spare but Atalanta have already beaten their previous record of 50 points set during the 2006-2007 season.
Alejandro Gomez has played a key role in the Atalanta’s rise. The 29-year-old forward, who took part in the Toulon Tournament 2009, is the club’s top scorer with 14 goals in 30 league games. Like his team, Gomez is enjoying the best season of his career.
Led by Gomez, Atalanta can dream about playing European football next season. The Serie A side hasn’t played an European competition since 1991. This year, Atalanta have reached the UEFA Cup’s quarter-finals.
