We are delighted to announce that England will be among the participating teams of the Toulon Tournament which will be held from 26th May to 9th June. The double-title holders will try to extend their winning streak during the upcoming edition.
The English new generation will be led this summer by Aidy Boothroyd who was already the Young Three Lions head coach at the Toulon Tournament 2015.
Some big names of the English football played the Toulon Tournament. We think about the Premier League all-time top goalscorer Alan Shearer who was named best player of the Festival International Espoirs in 1991. Few years later, David Beckham took part in our competition, in 1995 as well as in 1996.
As a reminder, the Toulon Tournament 2018 will feature 12 teams placed in 3 four-team groups. The three top teams of each group as well as the best second placed team (of all the groups) will advance to the semi-finals. Meanwhile, the other teams will play another game to determine their final ranking in the competition.
Except England, five teams have already confirmed their presence at the upcoming Festival : Turkey, Togo, Japan, France and South Korea. The other participating teams will be unveiled soon…
