Egy Maulana Vikri has impressed during the Toulon Tournament 2017 and has won the breakthrough player award. After his fine performances in the south of France, he has attracted interest from several European clubs including a French Ligue 1 side.
Eventually, the 17-year-old youngster will continue his career at Lechia Gdansk as the Polish club announced the signing of the Indonesia international (3 caps). In virtue of the FIFA rules, the transfer will take effect from July when Egy Vikri will celebrate his 18th birthday.
“I am glad that I join Lechia Gdańsk. I've already learned a lot about my new club and I'm happy to be part of it. I think that Poland and Lechia are great places for me to develop and thanks to the game in Lechia I intend to become one of the best players in Europe. I promise to adapt quickly to European football and work hard every day”, Egy Vikri said to the Lechia Gdansk website.
Thanks to this transfer, Vikri will become the first Indonesian ever to play for a top division club in Europe.
