After their loss against Turkey for their entry in the competition (2-1), Japan and their head coach Akinobu Yokouchi are already in a tough position. Reactions.
Akinobu Yokouchi (Japan head coach) : "Our mistakes provoked the loss. My players wanted to play their game and that's where came from our mistakes. But I will continue to tell them to try and attempt. I can't really say that this was youth mistakes... Most of them already played in international competitions.
We will have to control more the attacking phases to create new chances during the next games. On a defensive point, we will have to defend with the same intensity until the end, for 80 minutes."
Koji Miyoshi (Japan midfielder) : "We succeeded to unsettle the opponent. We can hope a positive continuity for the next. We will have to work on the efficiency. That's what we lacked of today.
We didn't no feel a lot of difference between our game and the Turkish one. Our aim to destabilize the opponent was partly achieved.
It is a tournament. We have to win the next game to still hope to qualify for the semi-finals."
