After an emotional game, Mexico outclassed China (3-1) and took an option for the qualification. Marco Ruiz, the coach, expressed his satisfaction.
"Mexico was used to playing against teams who stills play on their assets and give everything, so we can't make some mistakes or enter on ground relaxed. Our team have a lot of pride and it was impossible to continue like the beggining of the game, we were able to react at the good moment.
It’s a challenging tournament, but our players are very trained to support this pressure. After these beautiful efforts, they have many days to rest. To recover, I’m confident, most our players arrived tired because they were back from holidays. It was necessary to put them on the rhythm quickly, but in the coming days, I think it will be good for them.
The opponents study our strategy and they always study the game of the squads, but our philosophy is to always take the initiative. You have to know how to adapt to the opponent's game. We want our team to go forward with our players playing high on the pitch, to keep pressing hard for having the keys of the games.
Mexico have done their part of the job so far, we are qualified for the semi-finals, now we have to wait. In meantime, we’ll prepare ourselves for the next. "
