Merih Demiral (Turkey defender) : « We came here to win the Tournament »
Turkey qualified for the semi-finals of the Tournament after they beat Portugal (2-1). Merih Demiral, captain of the Turkis squad, was happy with this display.
"We are very happy. We did some good things and we believed in our chance. That's why we won. It was a tough second half for us. We gave all we could.
I have some friends in the Portuguese team. I congratulate them. They tried to play well. I had some different feelings. I play for the national Turkish squad and also in the Portuguese league. This is football, you have to be professional even if you play against some friends. I tried to do my best. I am very happy to help my team.
We came here to win the tournament. We wil face Mexico in the semi-finals. We will do what we do since the beggining, give everything."
