Kaoru Mitoma (Japan midfielder) : « A total disappointment »
Japan were held to the draw against Canada (1-1). This tie doesn't permit the Asians to qualify for the semi-finals. Kaoru Mitoma, who scored during the game, expressed his disappointment.
"This is a total disappointment because we knew we had the possibility to win. But we missed something to reach the aims we had.
The shots were not good. Regarding the team, we had to put more pressure in front of the opponent's box and shoot more.
That's true that instead of take some risks, we prefer to base on a sure game. We have to take more initiatives. I can't explain why we can't take more risks.
I am not satisfied about my tournament. We should win and we didn't do it. When I see the results we did, I am disappointed."
