This summer, Portugal clinched their first ever Euro U19 title. Joao Filipe and Trincao have been logically praised for their performances but other players distinguished themselves like Domingos Quina.
Technically gifted, the 18-year-old midfielder has shone during the European Championship like illustrated by the stunner netted against Italy.
Logically, his performances in this competition combined to his displays at the Maurice Revello Tournament 2018 have attracted the interest from several clubs. Restricted to a few appearances in cup competitions at West Ham, the Bissau-born has decided to join Watford on a four-year-deal.
“At West Ham, I have been playing for the Under-23s for three years in a row now and I think it is the time to move on, play in the first-team and crack on. I am really happy and I have come here to play for the first-team. That is the main reason I came here”, he said.
His desire has been quickly fulfilled as Quina has been included in the Watford’ starting XI for the Carabao Cup game against Reading (2-0) on the last Wednesday. The Portuguese youngster helped his side to clinch the win as he scored a fantastic goal.
“His goal was brilliant. I’ve not seen one like that. Domingos is young but he has a lot of quality and a bright future”, told his coach Javi Garcia.
After impressing for his Hornets debut, Domingos Quina is now hoping to make his Premier League debut during the rest of season. As a reminder, Quina was named on the West Ham bench for twenty Premier League games without playing a single minute…
